also a detail i picked up on was that as the plot progressed the intro theme became much more grandiose and cinematic

Mando really adored that kid deep down. It sucks seeing them split up because we as an audience have grown attached to their bond, but it would've gotten redundant and formulaic if there wasn't an ending to this storyline.
