So the song was already shooting up all types of charts and getting huge numbers before the co-signs, it only turned into a bandwagon thing of people rooting for themselves for enjoying it sorta thing after the fact

We may have also overblown the significance of her being from Disney and the drama surrounding it. After breaking the song’s production, storytelling, sequencing/structure and melody down, I think people are genuinely enamored with it

While it isn’t the most instantly infectious song on some Post Malone s***, the melodic embellishments have good movement and each section has good continuity (like every hit song btw lol). It’s just melodramatic enough while having that Lorde edge so it has a sense of legitimacy

A cookie cutter kinda song in general but it’s liked for what it is. People are impressed with the songwriting, vocals and production of this trendy simple song and I guess she had enough followers on social media to get eyes on it, like a random with 20k Twitter followers has enough engagement to start a viral meme if they tweet something memeworthy enough

We may need to just pack it up trying to figure out why it’s so big lol

it did 13m spotify global streams yesterday

  • Jan 14, 2021

yes. crazy how we're literally becoming oldheads

i've said it before but we're like the dusthead Nas stans when soundcloud was popping.

"who are all these lil whatevers always mumbling about nonsense"

that's literally what we're acting like RN

It’s all downhill from here dude

  • Jan 14, 2021

    Good for her

Hope she keeps the momentum up

I still can’t believe y’all mad over streaming records being broken by a teenager. It was bound to happen. KTT2 is like 1% of the total music listenership lets be honest here

yeah your posts made it make more sense as to why it became popular.

also that taylor cosign was like the cherry on top.

she's probably gonna be a future star now

    And that’s good for her.

She could have the makings of a genuinely good Disney molded talent

  • Jan 14, 2021

    listening right now

    it's honestly not bad

    better than most generic s***

  • Jan 14, 2021

damn even jon denton talked about it?

  • Jan 14, 2021

People might think this is weird but it took me a while to understand people really listened to Ariana Grande because she was a Disney child actor. I guess same goes for Miley Cyrus even tho she hasn’t reached the same heights and that seems way more meta with the whole Hanna Montana tv show angle.
