The fact that Tom Holland said this is the best Spider-Man movie ever made makes me feel kind of bad for him.
Imagine seeing this and thinking “Damn, I’m probably never gonna be in anything this good.” and he’s the current face of Spider-Man.
They gotta hire someone GOOD to direct 4.
At least he doesn’t have the worst Spider-Man movies
Spider-Verse could never be told as effectively in live action. Hopefully this leads to filmmakers realizing the scope of stories they can tell with animation
I don’t want the third movie to end with the introduction of live-action Miles Morales because then that would make this entire trilogy feel like nothing more than a stepping stone to live-action Miles.
Let the animation exist on its own and be its own thing without reducing it to nothing more than a jumping off point for live-action films
Fuk dat nigga
I’m a young black fella who looks kinda like Miles Morales. Just had my first bee sting a couple hours after seeing Spider-Verse
F*** this movie
People are spoiled by everything being self contained these days. Superhero comic writing has always been serialized and the way it was done here did a fantastic job of building excitement for the next 2 hour plus story they'll be giving us in 10 months.
The writing and pacing was top notch and as someone who has been watching superhero stories their whole life, it felt like a natural stopping point for a film in the genre.
I am glad we only have to wait 10 months for the next part though.
that stopping point made me feel likle i was watching half of a story. mid
You all need to witness Across the Spider-Verse in theaters and also in IMAX if possible. Everything that was great about the first film gets elevated to perfection with this one. I loved this so much.
Why should it be a complete story it’s part of a trilogy
first movie felt like a complete story. it didn't rely on being part of a trilogy like this does, ending felt half ass

infinity war didn't have this problem lol the dark knight didn't either
empire strikes back certainly didn't

That’s how I felt at first…infinity war has an ending..this one doesn’t
but tbh it’s better this way cause any other way would lead to a long ass movie or a rushed underwhelming ending
Not one person is going to care that this movie ends in a cliffhanger once the second part is out. You can just watch them together at that point with a short intermission in between.
Ain't no way they were putting out a 4-5 hour movie or tacking on some half assed resolution to make the movie feel like it ended. Just keep the hype up and deliver another classic in less than a year.

Just wish it was a kill bill situation where it was 6 months between parts
They saying march rn
But this one was plagued with delays… hope it doesn’t change
I hate to even put this energy out there and have a lot of faith in the creators but if the next part disappoints would it hinder your feelings about this one?
It’s such a part 1 of 2 movie with the only other film I think compares to that being Dune. Although Infinity War, The Two Towers, & Empire Strikes Back set up for a finale they all still felt like a full 3 acts
I’m not suggesting it should just interested in hearing others thoughts

This definitely felt like a mid season finale to a tv show ending in the middle of an act. But s*** was so good I’m willing to wait

Facts and regardless of what comes next it’s still a game changer in western animation

I don’t think it can disappoint that much if it was made in the same creative space. No matter what, these animators are cooking on a level we’ve rarely witnessed. You could watch these movies on mute and they would be better than most of what’s out there.
I think the core story they’re telling is solid, based in character and isn’t relying on twists or subverting expectations. If the rest of the story is even just OK, Beyond will still be great.

Well put. Yeah either way I think the advances in animation it made will solidify its status

Empire Strikes Back? I definitely think it did
We were left with Luke losing a hand and Solo frozen
