    Whats up

The untitled series will follow an older, grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City. An individual with knowledge of the project says that the show will be set in its own universe and the main character will not be Peter Parker.

This has always been how Spider-man Noir is :kanyeshrug:

Marvel comics has been milking Spider-Man for the last decade

Sony just following suit with that being their biggest IP

    NEW EQUITY

Lazy writing? I guess I can see what you’re saying. Multiverse thing the whole reason why I even care about Marvel tbh

There's tradition in the standard myth.

The Marvel multiverse is just them commercializing time honored oral storytelling. Spoiler: Spiderman beats the villain at the end.

It's great when you're younger to hear about an inspiring lore hero from your elders but the story isn't supposed to change much from generation to generation.

You're supposed to pass it on and move on with your life. Why would you care if you've already heard the story a million times? 3 Spidermen was cinematic history, but where are they taking it from there?

I think the visuals/dramatic shifts in tone are interesting to explore but you can skim through the multiverse stuff tbh. It's just a theme park attraction that you've been on before. The characters are little more than archetypes the writers can throw in whenever they need. The actors don't even matter anymore, etc. I wrote a long rant somehow, but essentially the multiverse has already played itself out on a critical level.

It will be interesting to see how they create a new noir world. I think a series lends itself to taking risks in the realm of character development too. Plus, it's refreshing that it's not Peter Parker.

  • I always assumed the budget would be too high for a Spidey show

I’m guessing he ain’t going be doing too much web slinging & stuff
