Only argument I can think of is he went just to escape like everyone else but when he saw Peter had the box he came back to destroy it

while the spider men are making the cure and peter grieving the villains dont prepare in or organize in any meaningful way they just chill and wait for Peter to call them to the statue of liberty and they in no way think its a trap they just all come because plot

this movie really has 4 of the top 5 most GOATED comic book actor portrayals of all time
