I don’t think it makes a difference. KanYe can usually get a decent amount of acclaim based on production alone.
Plus Drake very rarely gets critical acclaim

Phlegm@mangotflu no shots at y’all but where does this seeming obsession and speculation about sales pre and post release come from/fit in with the appreciation n discussion of music for y’all?
Sometimes on here it seems like people use it to defend an artist n I get a bit confused as to…the apparent emotional investment.
I see where it can fit in sometimes obvi but in this broader case “fanbases” going back n forth about sales that don’t really affect them is confusing to me
I think it's just an extra layer of music discussion personally, I definitely agree with you tho that it's weird as hell to use it to defend an artist's music. The only time I agree w/ it being used is when people say an album/artist has no hype/popularity
personally I find the numbers side of things super interesting & always have but I totally get why people hate it

ye i'd agree if he had more than 4.5 days. 250k-300k with 4.5 days and 350k-400k with the full 7 days

The last couple of albums have been slowly dropping in critical acclaim and they still had more then Ye and JIK.
Both Drake and Ye need to deliver on these projects and I got my money on Drake doing it more.
