i bought a cheap external one last year for when i find big box games at yard/estate sales

Gaming has never been in a better position than right now

glad the only console i bought since ps4 is a switch 2.
physicals on my switch, i usually only play indie or old games on my pc.

get ready for subscriptions to individual games, etc.

i think the silver lining in this, is that as triple a companies think that the most profitable way to make money in the long term is to royally f*** over their customers, as opposed to making good games (which they havent in years)

indie games will continue to expand and dominate the market.

there are super cheap usb plug in disc drives. its just pc releases havent been physical in a long time and old games use like codes and s*** the companies disable after a period of time.

but at least with pc you can save you game on your harddrive, people mod games to have community servers after theyre sunset etc.
theres way more options for ownership with pc even if its digital
