That’s cap. If I want to play another game I can do so without ever getting up. If I want to buy a new game, I can do so instantly and begin downloading.

If I only owned discs I have to get up, eject the disc, put it back in the box, store it, find the game I wanna play, insert the disc, go sit back down. If I want a new game I have to either take my ass to a physical store or order it and wait days for it to ship to me or pay some doordasher extra money to pick it up for me.

    Holy s*** look at this

Are you the guy from f***in Wall-E

What’s the point in buying a PS6 when you could have a PC then?

That's the thing. Owning discs allows you to switch platforms you play on since you can recoup money with the insta-sale. I can watch money disappear into one-off experiences but not digital games

I got love for Steam and if I sold up on PS5/PS4 and moved over I wouldn't be mad

And they will pull away 5% of the PlayStation user base at best.

You do recognize the fear of “ they can take the license away for any reason “ will increase especially when Sony has . Game sharing will stop in a digital only future or change

  • HaroldsChicken

All they have to say is disc not going anywhere , fully backwards compatible, free online

Xbox has always been great with back compat I think that’s a given. Continuing to support discs and dropping intro gamepass tier to free with no game catalog but online service would be huge but I doubt either move is in the cards.

They have to pivot NOW tho. Just beg Microsoft to bleed money for another few years it’ll all be okay…

Acting like it’s meaningless that in 2 years there will be no more disc for a console is insane if Microsoft announced this same exact s*** you would call them stupid .

Yeah man God forbid you had to get off the couch, take a disc out, and insert a new one

    That sounds absolutely insufferable

When they see “insert game here” $80 + tax on PlayStation store for PS6 and then see the same game for $40 used disc for helix

Start buying physical movies before it’s too late

Once they stop producing physical discs, the demand for physical movies will skyrocket and it’ll get more and more difficult to find certain movies

If they’re going digital only then they better be adopting Steam-tier sales discounts then.
