Yeah it allows sonic to like fly and gives him invincibility. At least that's how it worked in the games from what I remember. Got a feeling they will pull out the stops for this second movie and we'll get to see his super form.

I think I kinda like when franchises take the 1st movie and do an origin story to establish the character. It generally means less of the main character at their best because its busy trying to set everything up, but it pays off because in the following sequels they can go all out with adding more characters and more action. I think this second film here will showcase that.

Lowkey wish they would have brought back Jaleel White though to do Sonics voice for these movies but oh well
