I do agree that safety nets for basic food and housing should exist for people who truly need it

EBT and disability benefits and such do a sufficient job helping people with food imo, but the housing problem in the US, especially in certain cities, definitely needs to be addressed

and how do u know when someone "truly" needs it

i literally said if you need help you should be given help with food and housing....

But what is the actual problem with providing it?

If it was provided, you would know that no one would go without.

The way to prevent things from happening is putting things in place so they don't happen, not addressing them at the last moment.

Yeah but youre also an idiot and can't see how these forces interact in the real world. In the real world, the capitalist class uses their outsized power, wealth and influence to make sure that these programs that are supposedly there to help people, get cut every year and in some cases end up borderline non existent.

And these negative rights you believe in are what allow it to happen. And even then, you want to restrict this help to a certain class of people.

yeah tbh having welfare systems doesn't work because welfare is secondary to profit

like flint didn't have water for 4 f***ing years what kind of a f***ed up system is that

it's not engrained into the system to care about your citizens; it's rather a bandaid to give them the bare minimum to survive; to pacify; to legitimize. profits, instead, are your citizens.

And how about if their labor is exploited so greatly and their wage so low that they simply cannot afford the ever increasing cost of living

The lack of basic human rights

    Housing
    Food
    Water
    Medical

Are all reasons for generational problems amongst families. The lack of these things causes people to pass down mental health problems, poor health, etc.

i guess we are the bad guys for advocating for safety nets and not wanting everyone who turns 18 to be built and given a home lmao
