    who this

Fat Neckbeard contrarian Twitter journalist in a similar lane to people like Matt Taibbi but way more obnoxious. Tried to position himself as one of those radical centrist “real leftist” types but most his takes are just provocative

Sometimes has relatively okay takes just by saying the opposite of whatever the stale lib take is but it’s hollow since it’s shallow contarianism

Recently tried arguing Pearl Harbor wasn’t an act of war, the US should have stayed neutral in WW2, and got into a huge argument over if the Holocaust was actually curtailed by the war or not amidst arguing all of this

It’s going to go to a runoff in a month because one of them has to have 50% to win outright. Lula has 48% with 99% reporting so he’s not winning today most likely

3rd place with 4% I is someone who describes themselves as trying to “revive Third Way politics” so who knows where those votes will go

4th place with 3% is a former Lula appointee and vocal anti Bolsanaro person, so those likely going to Lula

Next month will be a very crazy time (IN BRAZIL)

really curious what the maoist doing there rnespecially in brazil political climate u know anything @Cudderwalks ?

    Marxism is a philosophy

Dialectical materialism is the philosophy of Marxism. Marxism encompasses philosophy, political economy, praxis in the form of class struggle, and a scientific understanding of history being driven by that struggle

Idk this guy and he seems wrong, but there's something interesting about that last point. People always point to WW2 as an example of humanitarian intervention but that's not at all what happened. The allies fought Germany because Germany attacked them, not because they wanted to stop the holocaust. Of course the Holocaust as we know it didn't really start until like 1941 but there was still a lot of discrimination before this and none of it prompted declarations of war.

This is just speculation, but I think Hitler could've started shipping people to death camps in the 30s n we still wouldn't have seen a single declaration of war.

And I think that brings up an interesting question about humanitarian intervention. How should countries react to these kinds atrocities? Who has the moral legitimacy to invade? Would military intervention even work? Germany was already in the midst of losing the war and there was a huge power imbalance between the two sides of the "War on Terror".

Of course all of this is in the context of a liberal world order

Of course the US didn’t intervene in WW2 because of the Holocaust (neither did the rest of the Allies) - the only people who think this are libs dependent on mythologizing the past. However acting like the byproduct of the Allies joining the war didn’t lead to the end of the Holocaust is just incorrect. Tracey was trying to say the Allies made the Holocaust even worse by joining the war, as the war not happened, nazi germany simply wouldn’t have committed genocide. That’s just a contrarian take relative to the lib mythology take.

Could someone please explain why the concept of private property wasn’t always a thing. Im trying to understand what differed between the feudal ages and why isn’t land owned by a Lord and worked on by serfs considered private property by the Lord. If anyone can clarify or correct
