I always assumed when people talked about industrialization of the US it meant manufacturing just moved to China in the 70s/80s. But digging into it a lil, it actually just moved from the northeast to the south/southwest. It's not until the 2000s (China joins the WTO) that you see a dramatic fall in the total number of manufacturing employees in the United States. And the US is still the world's number 2 manufacturer

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Wednesday pushed back against a U.S. complaint over his energy policy, saying his government had done nothing wrong, and even played a song to show that he was not scared of how it would play out.
The United States' request for dispute settlement talks under a regional trade deal marks an escalation of international concern over Lopez Obrador's efforts to strengthen Mexico's state energy companies at the expense of private investors.
Speaking at a regular news conference, Lopez Obrador shrugged off the controversy, saying his policies did not violate the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement trade pact, and promised to answer the U.S. grievances "point-by-point."
"We're acting in line with public interest, defending the Mexican people against greedy companies used to stealing," the president said after projecting on a video screen a jaunty Mexican song called "Uy, que miedo" ("Ooh, how scary").
Didn't this guy work for Trump? What's his ideology
It’s a joke because there’s an old interview where he praises Lenin and calls himself a Leninist and there’s a few interviews of him praising the USSR
In reality though yeah he was the blueprint behind Trump, he isn’t super consistent ideologically but he sits between boomer nationalist and neo nazi-lite (he isn’t really anti-Semitic or that racist but the remainder of the ideology basically, big Evola “return to tradition” type s***).
I personally think the “everyone in the trump team is a crypto-leftist” conspiracy is good old fashioned Schizo fun

on a macro level definitely but disagree that everyone who's ever discussed the idea of federalism has been solely reactionary
