The American revolution gotta be the most overrated revolution oat
It may also have been a bourgeois revolution like the French revolution insofar as it also overthrew a monarchy, but it's no way near comparable in its actual effect on their societies class relations. The French revolution was an actual social revolution that transformed French society, the American revolution wasn't much more than a local rebellion that allowed the American colonists to allocate more of their resources towards colonizing further into the west and preserve slavery, meanwhile the French revolutionaries actually abolished slavery.
The French revolution was a progressive revolution in abolishing feudal class system and slavery (until Napoleon), the American revolution was more of a secession to preserve slavery than an actual revolution seeking to abolish class system.

one of my favorite stories about China and Israel is that during the initial capitalist reforms of the country post-Mao coinciding with more non-isolated global diplomacy, there were social exchanges with Israel and jews abroad (namely from within the US), and the misunderstanding of social contexts and norms as small amounts of foreign cultural influence trickled into china lead some early small business owners to either dress up as orthodox jews or put jewish ornaments in their buildings thinking this would bring them success/wealth to their businesses/communities since the abroad connection was jewish = good business
this sounds anti-semitic but this actually happened

When you ask Chinese people about Jews they say "yeah they're good at business and stick together"
I talked to a Chinese PhD student who thought Israel is a Muslim country
Then again a German university student I talked to also thought Dubai was in Saudi-Arabia
so sad how gaddafi gave up libyas nukes, helped fight the war on terror, and even ushered in neoliberal reforms towards the end of his life only for the US and Europe to coup him anyways

Libya giving up nukes was easily the worst mistake Gaddafi made, but I understand why he did it to the extent he expected it to not just be transactional but as a means of his idea of political good
unfortunately that idea was misguided and too optimistic
