Capitalism will die the same way feudalism died before it

The question is what replaces it...maybe socialism...maybe something else

Also...how long will humanity even survive if the climate s***s the bed

Assuming humanity survives, I would say that the USA would be one of the last places in the world to have socialism

The primary task of Americans besides standing up for their own interests should be to weaken imperialism, promote peace, and also help shape the discourse worldwide (bc unfortunately English is the world language and USA the world hegemon so people will always d***ride what America does)

I’m not aware of feudalism ended either

Definitely ended by now. The transition from feudalism to capitalism and the revolutions that made it happen, like the French Revolution or American Revolution, give us a glimpse of how economic systems can change.

what was the tipping point that inspired these revolutions?

No, and I think some authors like to call stuff feudal even though it isnt bc China was semi-feudal

There are of course people who do subsistence labor and don't participate in capitalism but it is getting rarer and rarer even in developing countries.

Complex question. Many things at once. For French Revolution:

    1. Technology advanced. This allowed for the first factories to appear and better farming techniques. This in turn caused more and more peasants to work in cities. Cities became more powerful. Rural areas needed less farmers. Owners of factories gained economic power over aristocrats holding feudal lands, but didn't hold political power yet.

    2. There was actually a Little Ice Age that decreased farming yields, so hunger was rising. The peasants were angry and impoverished, the physical climate wasn't good at all.

    3. Cultural ideas changed about religion, the state, the rights of a human et cetera.

For American Revolution, conflicts between the new landowners in the USA versus the old aristocrats of the UK played a big role. The former were closer to capitalism than the latter.

Basically, the capitalist class had economic power, but not political power, so they used the masses for a revolution. This isn't bad per se of course, since capitalism is in many ways (but not in all) an improvement over feudalism. The idea of Marxism is that capitalism also needs to be improved upon via a new system called socialism/communism.

    about class consciousness ?

    this is great
    https://www.marxists.org/archive/lukacs/works/history/index.htm

havent peeped this but for complete beginners i think short pieces by contemporary writers like Parenti and Vijay (or whoever else is good) are a lot more accessible and make it easier to understand the basics as opposed to literature from 100 years ago (which can be read afterwards)

yeah I was worried it might be too "advanced" but honestly I dont really have anything else for class consciousness than bunch of sources for learning philosophy which will help understand that text better

like ik people who have been put off from learning more cuz they tried diving right into Lenin and Marx with zero knowledge of socialism. a lot of people in this generation dont read like that and have difficulty focusing so it can definitely be intimidating if your first introduction to reading is a german dude from the 1800s lol

or since it seems too "hard" they'll just go down the breadtube and twitter pipeline since its easier to consume

there needs to be a middle ground
