If Cuba was a Soviet neocolony, then why did Cuba intervene in Angola against the apartheid South African invasion without consulting the USSR, because they knew they wouldn't get a greenlight?
Why did Cuba go in the opposite direction that that the USSR liberalizing under Gorbachev did with their rectification campaign?
Why did Brezhnev rant about Fidel and Cuba's support for international revolution in defiance of the Soviet policy of peaceful coexistence?
Why did the CIA write entire documents detailing how the USSR and Cuba often didn't see eye to eye on important issues and that their allyship is in question?
It's literally just Maoists taking the post Sino-Soviet split US-aligned foreign policy at face value and interpreting it as some sort of big brain theoretical breakthrough
If you want to see Cuba as a neocolony then you have to look no further than how the US had it as a neocolony before the revolution. For any American to regurgitate that US propaganda and slander about Cuba being a Soviet neocolony reframed as being more leftist than MLs or whatever really is obscene to me ngl
