The counterargument that left wing economic policy is only possible in ethnicly homogenous countries is not even just empirically false but also the easiest way for somebody to out themselves as being an ethnonationalist

Anticommunist propaganda about how literally all communist leaders ever murdered 100 millions of people goes deep

Like in many peoples minds communism is when the government does everything including killing everybody

  • Apr 24, 2022

Anybody knows any good readings on indigenization in the USSR and the reversal of that policy?

It’s just idiotic bc they didn’t even do that

I can see the case being made for Stalin and Mao. They do have lots of death on their hands.

But Fidel and Lenin..? They just cracked a couple eggs? Like idgi

They think there's an unbroken line between lenin and stalin, as if Lenin had a secret notebook that said "and then we're powderize the peasantry!". With Fidel, idk about now but people used to say that he had a terror campaign after the revolution. 100% false, there were actually trials with acquittals and the number of people executed was very low. Compare it to what happened when CIA backed counter revolutionaries prosecuted their enemies and we see what an actual terror campaign looks like.

The thing that gets me is when they try to say Marx got blood on his hands because people drew inspiration from him and it's like, they never apply this logic to liberal thinkers. How many liberal writers championed the "civilizing mission" of colonialism? Do they have the blood of those millions of casualties on their hands too? If you think Marx is responsible for the Moscow trials surely that's the only logical position, but these people are hypocrites. John Locke actually wrote the constitution for a state that enshrined and allowed for the enforcement of chattel slavery, there is nothing even remotely close with Marx or Engels.

the mythology of "big bad villain" aligned with foreign leader is deeply engrained in the western conscious and cultural mythos. "Great man theory" (and the logical inversion of such for perceived "evil") are basically the cornerstones of how the western public interprets events and history. keep in mind the western understanding of the lineage of politics and history in non-western associated countries is already very weak, so many do not have the prior information to differentiate morals outside of the biased western sphere of influence. so it's because of these factors that characters associated with foreign authority are generally thought of as great evils, in a way not too distinct from someone like Hitler - like, it's literally taught in many american schools that Hitler was just super persuasive and gave some speeches and because germany was f***ed post-WW1 he was just too persuasive and everyone was rallied by it. Like yeah everything in all of Germany during WW2 is just Hitler and maybe 1-2 of his ""second in commands""" or something. That's it. They similarly think it's the same with authoritative figures otherwise.

its legit so depressing that much of american education teaches the rise of the nazi party in germany like:
    -world war 1 destroys germany
-german economy now bad and living is hard ):
-hitler: "what about these JEWS though? we need to get germany back on the map and the jews out!"
    -germany: "this mf spittin"

like its no wonder so many libs legit think people like trump are LITERALLY hitler because half the US education system teaches hitler said some bad stuff and then 3 days later the holocaust happened

way i see it is... gotta pick and choose when to say the real s*** (like some people are way too deep into their own indoctrination, still worth giving them questions to ask themselves but... yikes)... but we still gotta talk about it, we're all gonna die one day we at least gotta spread the truth or whatever we got thats closest to the truth while we're here

education is so important bro its incredibly f***ed up how much it gets suppressed

Funniest political ideology is Georgism. Just responding to any and every issue with "okay but what if there was a land tax"

The next protests are going to be really bad. Things have gotten worse with absolutely no concession from the government. People are tired of being so heavily exploited. On the other hand, going to be lots of f***ing gorilla right-winger lone-wolves after seeing what happened to Rittenhouse.

Prime time to be organizing and spreading pro-worker values, more people should 100% be unionized

  • Apr 25, 2022

One thing that always gives me a chuckle reading articles in spanish is that 'gorila' literally translated means 'gorilla', but in the southern cone it also translates to 'fascist' and 'reactionary'
