dont even think he read the book was watching his stream once cause why not I was bored lets see if I like his content, and man just completely disregards Settlers calling it University BS, and now is calling Sakai a FBI agent
Honestly I think this is just a result of lack of communist success in the west, so a right wing deviation is being formed, a tailest deviation. Where before the commies were being commandest not getting any results, the tailest are willing to give up any principals just so they can get a bit more popular for a short amount of time.

what is nkrumahism ?
the "overpopulation" myth is so frustrating because if folks thought about it for a couple of minutes instead of relying on the eco-fascist s*** they've been fed for years, they'd realize it wouldn't make sense

The malthusian theory and its consequences has been a disaster for the human race

I get allergic reactions every time I see that word
what is nkrumahism ?
comes from kwame nkrumah, panafricanist ideology
overall good
often paired with toure, making another ideology altogether
What were the long term goals of Stalinism? Was it similar to dengism in terms of their prioritization of an internal buildup of forces that could then be exported versus the creation of momentum through straight up igniting revolution ?
“ We see the same thing today. The communists look for support to the rank and file of the workers; the social democrats look for support to the aristocracy of the workers, to the professional classes, to the small shopkeepers, and to the petty bourgeoisie in general.”
social democrats in this context also meaning people who call the themselves socialist
some things never change lol
Anyone here read capitalist realism?
read some of it. he actually mentions kurt cobain
which may be of interest to you

What do you exactly mean by Stalinism?
What do you exactly mean by Stalinism?
The idea of socialism in one country and the solidification of socialism within it
The idea of socialism in one country and the solidification of socialism within it
Socialism in one country is not really an ideology but more a reaction to history. The German revolution failed because the Social Democrats killed Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht and sent the proto-fascist Freikorps to take care of any revolting workers. So when it was apparent that Germany would not revolt, the Soviets realized that world revolution won't happen. Socialism in one country was basically just an excuse to appease the West and get them off their backs while the country rebuilt (and then while it prepared for WW2 - Stalin knew early that Hitler was out for war, which is also why he bought time using the Molotov-Ribbenkopf pact). Otherwise the West could have went against the USSR and said they are exporting revolutions. Mind you there was not a single other socialist country in the world at the time.

That makes a lot of sense

if your talking about economically Stalin and Deng are nothing alike. Deng and the whole productive forces being revisionist is due to Stalin. Stalin argued against that socialism doesnt build up productive forces, and that you need capitalism to do so, and we seen it be true in practice during Stalin time at the head of the USSR with his purge of Bukharin and the right opposition who wanted to extend the NEP, and we seen the productive forces rise under the planned economy during Stalin time.

Makes sense
How would one factor in the establishment of joint venture contracts with western firms like Ford in their relation to the initial formation of these productive forces in the context of prevailing leftist theory regarding Stalinism?
It’s so weird connecting with leftists not in the US/West Europe because everyone here is a Social Democrat and anarchist
Meanwhile my Filipino friends are ALL ML’s

"Stalinism" is not really acknowledged as an actual tendency by most MLs
MLs just call it Marxism-Leninism, mostly Trots that use that term
But Stalin's focus on industrializatiom was motivated out of fear for an attack coming from European capitalist countries.. and he turned out to be right
The idea of socialism in one country and the solidification of socialism within it
Oh when it comes to that what arcade said pretty much sums it up
Anyone here read capitalist realism?
Yea it's a good read but u don't wanna take the implications of it too far and become a leftcom
