he touches on it in the video but what's occurring really exposes the phony bologna nature of the entire "peace process". armed groups which as recently as 2 years ago which were allied with each other are being turned into agents of the capitalist state through the government's amnesty programs.

Petro, like all social-fascists, fears a socialist revolution most of all.

Omaha Tenants United is proud to announce that on 1/11/25, the tenants of the Tadousac Apartments – owned by the Lund Company - at 418 S 38th Ave voted to form the Tadousac Tenants Union, local #251 of Omaha Tenants United.

The Lund Company is one of Omaha’s largest property management companies, and has a reputation for skirting its responsibilities as a landlord. Lund’s parent company, Cushman & Wakefiled, was recently charged in a Department of Justice lawsuit for participating in an illegal price fixing scheme to artificially inflate rents for millions of tenants across the US. Through this practice, the “landlord cartel” Cushman & Wakefiled belongs to was able to extract $3.8 billion in illegal superprofits from tenants in 2023 alone. As such, taking on Lund represents a brave step forward for the tenants movement of Omaha, as the fight for dignity and fair treatment to tenants grows to tackle some of the most powerful actors in the Omaha real estate market.

A tenant at the Tadousac reached out to Omaha Tenants United in October of 2024, reporting unresolved mold and structural issues in her bathroom. OTU issued a demand letter to the Lund Company asking that this issue be resolved immediately. Lund proceeded to sick their attorney on OTU accusing us of “practicing law without a license”, threatening to report OTU to the Nebraska Bar, and refusing to communicate with us regarding the issue. This was a clear attempt to retaliate against the tenant and OTU in order to intimidate us into standing down. By attempting to claim that the mere citation of the rights outlined in the Nebraska Landlord Tenant Act (NLTA) by anyone who is not an attorney represents “Unlicensed Practice of Law”, Lund was essentially denying that tenants and tenant unions have the right to know and enforce the protections outlined for them in the NLTA . Furthermore, the NLTA is very clear that tenants have a right to work with or form a tenant’s union or similar organization, and that any retaliation for doing so is illegal.

After talking to more tenants at the Tadousac Apartments, it became clear that there were a number of issues affecting the quality of living and safety of the community. OTU spent the next two months talking to each resident, and working with them to develop a series of collective demands for Lund. OTU gathered the signatures of over 60% of the building in support of the 16 collective demands for crucial repairs to their living spaces, a moratorium on rent increases, and improvements in Lund’s level of service . After collecting signatures, the tenants proceeded to vote to unionize on 1/11/25, and had their demands delivered to the Lund Company on 1/21/25. The tenants gave Lund two weeks to set a date to engage in collective bargaining negotiations and develop a plan for fulfilling the demands.

The demands formulated by the tenants are significant, as they do not just ask for basic repairs, but go on the offensive by making “positive” demands that go beyond what bourgeois law tells us we’re “owed”. In addition to demanding on moratorium on rent increases for three years as compensation for Cushman & Wakefiled’s illegal price-fixing scheme, the tenants also demanded that they be promised automatic lease renewals, and that an evictable reason must be provided in writing for a lease to not be renewed. The tenants of Tadousac Tenants Union are taking a bold step forward by not just acting in a “defensive” capacity, but attempting to set new precedents by demanding that we are given back what we are owed, and seeking greater protections to ensure tenants can count on secure, stable housing. This is a great example of the type of demands tenants everywhere should be making to help tenants build greater power for themselves and balance the scales against our exploiters We will publish the full demands in the comments below.

This is a rapidly evolving situation and we will have some big updates for everyone soon. OTU is confident that TTU will represent a powerful example of tenant organizing and class struggle for all working class people in Omaha to replicate. OTU encourages tenants across the city to follow TTUs lead by talking to your neighbors about forming a tenants association, and reach out to us to learn how to establish a tenants union and form a local of OTU, so that we can continue building a desperately needed tenants union for the workers of Omaha.

You get the website for free, the owners take your data and apply it to machine and algorithm learning or selling it to someone who will

Your use of the site is the labor, the data is the product, and the profit is made through its use as a conditioning tool for algorithms

how does he love legalism if anything the GPCR is an antithesis to legalism

It was anti-legalist the same way the American Revolution/constitution was “anti-Christian”
Mao was never even as remotely extremely and harshly anti-legalist as he was anti-Confucian. Anti-Confucianism was basically at the heart of the cultural revolution and most of his govt reforms. Legalism reflects within early PRC declarations and he wrote multiple essays and letters positively about Legalism’s place within historical Chinese society. Mao publicly praised the Qin Dynasty and the GPCR is literally recorded in a lot of Chinese’s scholars writings as being an anti-Confucian pro-legalist campaign; the “Criticize Lin” campaign Mao ran was very openly for replacing any form of Confucian thought or background with Legalist equivalent
I’m not saying that Mao was literally a legalist the same way I don’t think he’s literally a Taoist despite overlaps in some of his thinking, but he was clearly influenced on a cultural level by these things and they reflect heavily in a lot of his work and historical context

a lot of conservatives who defend capitalism think that today's capitalism is no longer capitalism. they think capitalism is when adam smith was still writing Wealth of Nations and America was a small nation of yeoman farmers. they think its just that FIRE sector and usury are out of control. So their critique of capital is limited to that. They envision a republic where everyone is an upright, sober, petty bourgeois proprietor. A nation of hot dog carts and newspaper stands. Small men with small means of production standing behind small counters.

    class struggle exists in socialism

if you want a serious answer, it's a term mainly started by people in the social/para-social circle of streamers like Haz & Jackson Hinkle who have views considered esoteric within the realm of standardized politics, who typically align with eastern bloc and non-US/EU allies politically but still champion a form of american nationalism. The term comes more specifically from Haz, who is a pretty small time streamer but is a part of the ACP, who thinks that Trump (somewhat facetiously but he's also serious) represents a challenge to the imperial & capitalist core due to his wildcard decision making and how much the establishment hates him. Haz/Jackson/etc are also - socially - more aligned to views now considered conservative in the sense they're anti-trans, against diversity initiatives, etc. and find allyship in that part of the GOP. That being said, it's an inconsistent set of half-ironic, half-unironic beliefs that really only exists on twitter. On here, it's just a joke that refers to trump doing things that would align to actions that 15 years ago the GOP would have called "socialism" in a derogatory sense while also lampooning the above.

I was looking for a serious response so thank you for going so in depth

unfortunately this Deepseek AI crap is gonna be the thing that finally makes Dengism mainstream. I dont really think China's role in Africa specifically is as nefarious as this makes it seem (since China is still mostly a middle-man on a global scale) but ill always appreciate these criticisms, whereas the Dengist crap about China being a harmonious meritocratic society and Xi Jinping being the real opposition to Trump and that African workers just need to wait for the Chinese to develop the preconditions for socialism (and slave away and die in the meantime) is just white middle class liberals projecting their own desires, its not to be taken seriously.

I think it's very nefarious when xi jingping invites US leaders to have talks about how China can better serve in the imperial class. And this is where I split with the old thinking of Marxist leninism. One big country that exploits the countries of the periphery is not "socialist". We are in an era of autonomy for the global South. Not being controlled by a supposedly "socialist" hegemon

China is neither a hegemon nor socialist so idk what this has to do with marxism-leninism, since today's "pro-China" socialists only offers lip service to marxism. Its closer to liberal universal humanism than it is to Leninism, which is simply scientific & true.

Just to give some background ive been reading foundations of leninism recently. And in it stalin talks about the first world socialists countries supporting national movements when they pop up in the periphery countries. What I'm saying is that I believe true socialism is progressing to the point where the global South countries are leading the charge in throwing away the shackles of imperialism. Africa doesn't need china any more than it needs the US

BIG NEWS: The Lund Company has agreed to sit down with Tadousac Tenants Union for collective bargaining negotiations, scheduled for 2/6/25. This marks the first time in Nebraska history that a landlord has recognized a tenants union and agreed to bargaining discussions.

While we are happy with this development, this is only the start of the battle. OTU and TTU are under no illusions regarding the possible pitfalls that lie ahead. Rest assured however, the tenants of TTU are determined to stand by their demands, and prepared for any trickery. We are ready for both the carrots and the sticks, the “good” cops and the bad cops.

The tenants of TTU possess a high level of unity and steadfastness, and as such we are confident this will represent an important advance for working class tenants across Omaha.
