the housephone thread is a really prime example of how social discussion is just a blackhole to engage in
sometimes the bait is too strong

i was doing good not being baited until i saw post saying why do we have to explain why moral things are moral, people should intrinsically understand

when anything involving lgbt is mentioned on ktt you know its gonna be at minimum a 30 page thread unless it gets locked

Same people called things they didn't agree with "gay" like 10 years ago
But then assume morality is a transcendental universal concept

That thread is insane
The indignation and unwillingness to acknowledge the basic reality that this is an incredibly new concept to the vast majority of people is so arrogant and delusional

the civil rights act was only 59 years ago in the US
being gay is still punishable by death in half the world
but somehow everyone on earth is supposed to intrinsically know whats morally correct to a very small population of people in the west

This doesn’t even make any sense or address what I’m saying
Black people have existed as long as time itself and didn’t get full rights until recently in over half the world
Acknowledging the reality that we don’t live in a fair world has nothing to do with validating or invalidating an identity. The point is that we don’t live in a utopia and progress isn’t so linear that just because we’ve progressed to some extent in social recognition equates to a perfect understanding abroad
Also please don’t bring up stuff like “but the 5 genders in Indonesia”. That’s like 1 tribe and they’re heavily discriminated against, it does the argument more harm than good

you know what let me put this in terms you can actually understand
a- iran was highly liberalized at one point but now women there face oppression
b - women there are facing oppression in spite of the fact that highly progressive and secular policies were once in place
c - the fact that there is slippage there shows progress is not linear and external stimuli and external actors can attribute to different progressions in values and thoughts colliding within populations
d - it has taken literal riots and protests in iran in order to even attempt to back this progress for women. the fact that oppression exists is not enough to simply ward off concepts of oppression
e - even if women do receive more rights from protests, these things are not intrinsically interlinked to others; if the current government were to ease up on women's rights because of protests (in theory), it does not mean they would also simultaenously ease up the rights of religious minorities or gay people

it’s funny seeing liberals use lefty terms they really don’t know what they mean lol
There were periods in my life where I was either a s\*\*\*addict or p\*\*\* addict or both. I got a new girl and had s\*\*\*6x this week. I have a high libido and sometimes I wish I was one of them asexual fellas. When I'm single I think a girlfriend will stop me from jacking off but damn it I just get hornier when i have one. So that's my principle vice. People told me it'll go away with age but I'm still the same.
My first ex was a super sweet red haired italian german girl. Anyway, she had a motorcycle accident and then started drinking and smoking and cutting almost instantly afterwards. Shyt was sad and she had borderline personality syndrome. We were both like 15, 16.
She only dated Türkish fellas after me, once you go Türk...
I relate to this post prob way too much
