Simmer down bud I wasn’t attacking your precious socialism just relaying my interpretation of election data.

The democratic leadership is under fire for not distancing itself from socialist attack ads.

During an hourslong Democratic call on Thursday, lawmakers peppered leaders with questions and vented their frustrations over the week’s losses. Since Tuesday night, Democrats have been wrestling with why polling had been overly optimistic, and why the party’s brand wasn’t strong enough to withstand attacks labeling its candidates as socialists. On the call, Mrs. Pelosi didn’t immediately provide an answer, lawmakers said.

    Can I ask you why?

Biden is as close to conservative in the Democratic Party as you can get. I don’t think he will enact any progressive policies

id rather biden be in office than tr mp

I don't think i have any illusions that this is progressive. I'm frustrated with his perspective on policing and hope that he will at least allow for some type of progression to sneak in to what he does with healthcare.

I do consider now to be when the real work starts, seeing what progressive s*** can get pushed through in a pretty center admin imo

but these aren't predictions or educated statements by any means

We can use one example of trans people in the US. This is a good example because Trans people pretty much have no voting power and need the help from other communities to protect their rights.

Joe Biden will reverse many of the discriminatory policies brought in by Trump against trans people. This includes, disallowing them from serving in the military, denying them basic rights to health care and even housing.

Do you agree that Biden will help marginalised groups of people such as this more than Trump?

Indeed, you roll the dice because one is standing on a platform of a more progressive society. Whether you believe it or not, the dice are worth being rolled in the face of Trump being elected.

I see no reason for people to take a principled approach to this when one candidate is offering help to marginalised communities whilst the other is doing the opposite and directly discriminating against them. Principles in the face of this serve only yourself, not other people. Anyone who leans to the left must do all they can to help the most vulnerable. That is the very foundation of our beliefs. Any political ideology comes after that foundation.

Even if you ignore all of this, it is hard to ignore the anti intellectual approach Trump has to politics and the complete disregard to anything but himself.

yeah i considered it a vote to get trump out, not because i really like biden, and i don't know why people are upset with that, be upset with the state of things, not the people who actually tried to vote for some relief

"both are the same" s*** again

i heavily disagree but I also don't think he helps all marginal communities in a vaccum but the outstanding circumstances of right now create the need to replace trump at all costs.

And I respect this a lot because I know it can be hard to vote for somebody you do not like. The left absolutely have to stop putting their own feelings and dedication to their political ideology over helping marginalised groups of people anyway they can. They do it to feel better about themselves for being principled. You cannot be principled whilst people rot under Trump. Biden is not great, but he will help more marginalised and vulnerable groups than Trump will. I have no doubt about this.

No. Biden will not fix all problems with marginalised groups of people.

But he will bring some help and hope to many. He is not the same as Trump, and you do not actually believe that.

that "both are the same" s*** accounts for literally nothing trump did the last four years to sow division in our country

I hate when people say that s***. like two things can be net negative in ones opinion and still have differences between them.

It's a lazy f***ing thing to say, and I should know. I'm lazy.
