any type of a***ysis like this as a springboard for political foundations is a losing battle in the long term regardless not just because as you said w/ it leading to liberal/conservative positions, but because those positions are intrinsically bound to the "current thing" in terms of structural emergence - there's no way to decouple such an a***ysis from the phenomena that cause it to be an issue to begin with. Ultimately fixating on "current thing" discourse always leads to nihilism if given an infinite period of time to gestate.

Basically I was at the Bay Area chapter for Kai’s party’s mass org, which was an unemployment council. Kai and another leader had made a set of lectures for us to examine depression era labor tactics regarding the unemployed and the tactics of the AFL vs the CPUSA and why the CPUSA was in the power position for most of the Depression

From there Kai had their own presentation that kinda dove into the theory of tactics regarding unemployment organization and how we could work from a lower level to a higher level. There was an example used from Scranton PA in 1932 to kinda show things like mass line and demCent creating self sufficient ML-ish labor organization

From there we had our economist (some 70 yr old guy who had a big part in starting the Asian American activist movement in the bay actually) give us an overview of the economy, explaining job rates, inflation, comparing to previous depressions. Kinda gave his insight as to who or what we should focus on.

From there the group deliberated on some proposals regarding organization and created a massive timeline to plan over future endeavors and how they could do things like gain members, adjust communication to appeal to non communists
