So you admit he’s on a downward trajectory
I’d agree he’s on a downward trajectory but it doesn’t affect his overall dominance amongst his peers.
Yes, some of the records he’s dropped this decade have not had the lasting impact as the abundance of hit records he has had last decade but the ones that did have longevity helped him to continue to remain relevant in the space. That’s all you can really ask for 15 years into your career.
Here’s another example why numbers absolutely don’t matter.
Back in 2000, Bone Thugs N Harmonys BTNH Ressurection album went 2x platinum.
Now I’ve never heard anyone ever bring that album up in my life. What does this tell you?…..numbers DONT matter

I think numbers matter way less in the streaming era than before. Way too easy to fake numbers, force number 1s. There is literally no reason to value a song selling x amount or charting a certain level in the modern era. It's all fake and stupid. Who decided how many streams = one sale?
I open this thread and people talk about "numbers don't matter". Thread title answered. Elimination was not successful.
Elimination is the wrong word.
It's more like a gradual neutralising of his popularity.
His next release is bound to do great first week numbers just based of the "What does he have to say about everything?" factor. Then if the music isn't actually a return to form then I expect that album to fall down the charts like a brick.
The "elimination" of Drake is in Drakes hands. It is he who will put the nail on his own coffin or rise up out of it like The Undertaker

first person shooter was his last one....
first person shooter was his last one....
They can’t even play that anymore. Crazy
he cant get away with 1 week hits like Slime You Out anymore. ppl are on high alert
well it charted 14 weeks and is 2x plat eligible
McDonalds serves 63 million people everyday. Don't mean that's good lol
All restaurants are not priced the same
well it charted 14 weeks and is 2x plat eligible
i'd be shocked if he performs it still
Comparing food and music is so dumb. One is a necessity and people buy fast food because it's cheap and they don't have to make it. We don't have to listen to Drake or any music at all.

Fast food is not cheap in 2024 lol

😂 True but the convenience of not having to cook is still there.
The notion that Drake hasn’t had a hit record in a long time is pure blasphemy.
This Decade Drake has produced the following hit records
Toosie Slide
Laugh Now Cry Later
Life is Good
Wants and Needs
Knife talk
Wait for u
Jimmy cooks
Rich Flex
First person shooter
Rich Baby Daddy.
Are they on the scale of a Gods Plan, Once Dance, Hotline Bling? Of course not, because those type of records don’t come as one would think. Those records go no.1 across all formats and national territories.
It’s just that Drake was able to produce hit records at a rate we’ve never seen in music. So the music consumer is going to be a sense of entitlement.
what is it tho? is drake eliminated or do numbers not matter
the music sxn conundrum

True but even Taco Bell's been jacking up their prices.
The Chihuahua is rolling in his grave.
