If you pay attention to the weekly breakdown of the top 10 singles in the country, Drake has almost to no radio play for his songs compared to other artists. Whereas when it comes to streaming he is definitively the biggest.

Knowing this, it’s remarkable how FATD managed to do 400k+ first week and his tour being predicted to gross 300mill domestically.

The guy really is in rarified air. That’s why I don’t entertain any of these discussions on who the biggest artists is currently. It’s clear as day that their is a coordinated and contrived machine behind Taylor Swift, Kendrick and even The Weeknd at certain points.

The resentment towards Drake like you previously mentioned is that he moves on his own accord.

I feel like it’s because drake don’t really release singles first to push before dropping an album. I can’t even remember the last rollout where he dropped a single and few months later dropped an album. He either surprise drop or gives us a week or 2 before dropping an album. They did. The song was added to their autoplay algorithm and would immediately be the song that plays after a song you selected. Notice how it kept gaining till it broke Drake's record and then it immediately started bleeding streams and hasn't come anywhere to its peak numbers since, despite being more popular now than it was the week it dropped?
