That particular issue you mentioned gets ramped up to 100 no lie

That’s basically what I was alluding too earlier discussing the spinoff but couldn’t quite place it till you hit it on the head as to why it felt so off and clunky

    You ll see lol

Damn that nigga became a fiend

    Crazy finale.

I already seen the parallel at the start of the episode with how he was fiending for his money like “damn he’s acting like the same junkies he sold crack to” but then they did a full 5 year time jump and the nigga became homeless like his pops

    Bet.

I think one of the issues I have is the writers don’t fully know how to write street niggas. I mean 2 of the creators is white and RIP Singleton…. Idk I feel like a lot of shows like Power, Empire, this it’s written by people who try and imagine what the streets are like but don’t actually have any experience.

Now this isn’t anywhere near as bad as empire or power don’t get me wrong, but it does have a little hint of that cartoony nature to it.

Legit the only white guys I’ve seen capture the inner city and black folks is the writers of the wire. And I think that was due to them being journalist and actually spending time amongst the people.

Idk I think I’m just a lot more critical of black projects that dabble with inner cities cus that’s a world I’m familiar with. Hell even the wire sometimes had Omar sounding a little cartoony, as much as I love his character there were a few scenes where I’m like “yeah you can tell this a white person trying to write how black people talk”

This is also why a show like Atlanta is such a goated show to me and probably in my top 5. It’s just authentic as f***. I don’t think I ever heard a piece of dialogue and cringe.

This encapsulated why I didn’t really finish the show beyond S2

Oh you speed ran right thru that last couple seasons huh

Last season was a strong recovery after the previous which was probably the weakest

Acid wedding episode was wild too

Yeah I think S6 might be my favorite.

Very bold to not give Franklin a redemption arc. But I guess that makes it unpredictable. Even Walt went and saved Jesse and sacrificed himself

  • Lamar such a insecure dweeb about s*** lol
