Anybody putting Eminem in their top 5 is NOT to be trusted.

I don’t have him top 5 but he’s clearly top 10 to most people.

He did what he had to do to stay relevant. He also didn't start many beefs, even with popstars. He would hear them say something bout him and he would attack.

Being white was pretty bad for a rapper until Em happened.

    No, you're rewriting history
Eminem admitted to saying the most foul s*** to get a reaction out of people
He didn't just go against people who attacked him : look up his Christopher reeves bars or Britney spears both have never said anything negative about him

People who did attack him sometimes just shared their opinions, like Christina Aguilera who simply stated the obvious : "he raps about killing hos wife"
she talked about the abuse she witnessed in her house as a child (iirc)
He felt the need to berate her, s*** shame her (who d*** did she suck first line ) and perfom the song at the vmas, he also mentionned her again in 2019 after they made up after almost 2 decades.

The point was, he gets passes for his bs that others never got.

Black acts like run dmc and public enemy had white fans (they toured the uk in the 80s) so they're credited for warming up white people to rap music making it possible for eminem to even exist (he needs to send def jam records a thank you note, but he's probably already done that seeing how much of a fan he claims to be of ll cool j)

vanilla ice had alot of white fans, he lost credibility after he got exposed for lying about his upbringing (his album did numbers and he was touring, on his way to become a superstar, he isn't seen as cool because he lied and was a dancer like mc hammer, the late 90s did away with rappers who danced)

the beastie boys surely contributed to white people liking white rappers as they had hits as well, so eminem doesn't get sole credit for that

Most rap heads have Em in top 10, at least top 15. From a technical standpoint em is one of the best to ever do it

He obviously says crazy s*** for attention. He has said that some names get stuck in his head cause they rhyme.

He did a lot of crazy s***, and got away cause he's white (50 too though, still does) but being white is also bad. I wouldn't even have given a chance to a white rapper if it werent for Em. And we all know a lot of people would have done the same. Even Snoop admited it here.

He was good, he had something special. That's why white people love him not just cause he's also pale lmao.

Not to mention that dude has latino fans all over America too. People act his fans are only white.

Then you saying Relapse is good music.

I think Relapse is a classic. I love it. But is it good music? Can you listen to what he's saying in public? Or is it just comedy rap coming from an old man?

I mean its subject matter is cringe but some of the music sounds amazing thanks to Dre. Em is flowing and sounding good too.

I wouldnt call it a classic but its a good album, much better than the s*** that came after. I seriously think Eminem hasnt made a good song since Relapse

So it's only good because Dre made or helped make the beats. Without that it would be a bunch of raps about d*** and p****.

His flows were crazy. But he used them for this.

See? People can love trash. Just like we do with that album. That's why I respect people who enjoy Kamikaze or MTBMB more than I do.

bro he never rapped like in Relapse again after 2009, his music and rapping been completly garbage.

Relapse sounded good, everything afrer that is watered down pop white rap.

Edit: and he was rapping about personal s*** in Relapse, not only D*** and stupid s***

Cause his flow was based on the accents. That's what made everything rhyme so perfect.

    The accents everyone hated

    VOTE FOR KANYE

Em is feared by all ur favorite rappers but somehow isn’t top ten Lmao

I think that most of rappers fear the backlash they can get + industry politics (you don't go against a label favorite aka the one who racks in the most cash for said label)

Public opinion back then was with em
If a majority of hip hop consumers are white and they dictate who gets on the radio, don't go against their favorite
today people are hip to it.

No one is shook of eminem when you do the research he hasn't been in that many beefs, he might have dodged as many as he won. (look up cage diss track, evidence diss track and k-rino diss track) + there are disses that are absocire and he def didn't win (look up whitey Ford beef and Nelly beef)
rappers have dissed him but never got a response (mostly underground rappers with nothing to lose)

his label made a couple racist tapes legally dissappear (look it up) so that benzino stop exposing him after the ole foolish pride debacle ; rumor has it, interscope records backed XXL magazine heavy in order to crush the soucre magazine = industry politics

    sales aren't everything

and if snoop's talking 80s rappers then hip hop probably wasn't in a place where it was possible to do Eminem numbers yet

Also just talking about sales means we're trusting the opinions of loads of people who don't like any other rappers. Why would we use them to validate who should be a GOAT.
