    stereogum.com/2294455/album-of-the-week-mike-showbiz/reviews/album-of-the-week

"Although the metaphor of a “Burning House” may have worked on Burning Desire, the track feels a bit insensitive, especially for a rapper who’s known to be a voice for the displaced and underrepresented. With fires still burning through Los Angeles, the true home of showbiz, MIKE should have considered removing that one from the tracklist, especially since it doesn’t directly tie into the album’s themes. “Burning House” goes into “Showbiz (intro),” where MIKE raps in double-time as if soloing at a North Hollywood jazz club. He’s flexing while ignoring the state of the city he calls to mind, especially as he self-affirms: “Even west, every coast with me.”

What do you guys think of this?

There are songs here that are 3 years old.

They been promoting showbiz for months, this album was done long before the fires happened. This why I stopped taking heed to most rap reviews years ago.

How does one illuminate a dark and muddy sky?
There's only one thing left to do
You gotta ram at the darkness with your rhyme

Feel like this quote off endgame been like dude mission statement and tbh, Ima always be here for it. Mans is singing on this bih now too lol.

Hearing the steady improvement of already great niggas throughout the years of being a fan is such a good feeling man.

The rapping much clearer (shoutout to the pop filter) and more articulate and he just sounds more confident space (ever since #botm that’s been apparent )

Also the streaming link gets you to see music video for Lucky too

Mans production gotten even better and I thought Burning Desire was the best production I’ve ever heard outta this nigga.

This Surf Gang collab album is gonna be nutso.

Mans been creative with visuals and things around his albums for years, how tf are artists with double even triple times his budgets not doing s*** like this?

Highkey both inspiring and frustrating knowing music as an artform could be so much more.
