A deep breath, need to take a deep breath
I'm scared of tall falls, I’m embark with steep steps
The streets deadly, I gotta keep TEC
Know if I reach readily, I gotta be bent
Gotta know I grieve heavy, follow steep stress
Momma know I be ready
I got flying b****es out money
Hide it in the couch money
I got so much pouch nigga, I think niggas out for me
I really don’t think anyone right now is rapping better than Earl and MIKE, and I really believe that
should be so beautiful
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've experienced. This is gonna age like fine wine. MIKE da goat frfr carrying rap this decade.
They don’t stop in the rain has me like this every time
For me it's the transition from "Do you Believe" to "Burning Desire." It's nuts.

I love being a fan of this scene (earl, mike, woods, open mike, quelle chris, wiki, mach, fahim, boldy, alc, etc....)
People saying rap sales are down or hip hop is dying again is baffling
Oh man
I’ll preface this by saying this is a very good release and still probably in the top half of his discography
It pains me to say this but it suffers from lack of quality control (by mike standards). The 24 songs on here range from good-very good with some exceptions. BOTM had 13 brilliant, focused tracks, so I can’t help but feel that this is a slight step back. Maybe rushed, I thought he would take more time before another release. A lot of the production feels like retreaded territory/less developed versions of BOTM or earlier songs.
Like I said, it is only slightly disappointing by mike standards, which are extremely high. Burning Desire, Ho-Rizin, and U think Maybe are amazing but still probably would slot into BOTM as mid tier songs on that album. Feel free to flame me, mike is still my goat

Honestly I disagree. BOTM while good did not seem to capture the same feeling that Disco! invoked. This new joint is potentially his best work so far with breadth that his other projects lack. I can't stop listening.

This sLUms movement (not sure what else to call it) has effectively created an entire subgenre of rap at this point. Crazy that Earl has been part of two generational movements with this and Odd Future.

Not sure what MIKE standards you're referring to but listen to it a few more times. Burning Desire is heads and shoulders over BOTM. In every aspect.

I just mean that he has made amazing music for years and this feels more safe, consistently good but not great. Definitely gonna listen more but BOTM was peak mike lyrically and musically. This kinda feels like a slightly unfocused data dump but still good because, it’s mike

Burning Desire is safe? Do you not hear how confident this nigga sounds on here? When has MIKE bragged about anything?
Do you not hear the different sounds on Burning? You can almost barely pickup the lyrics on BOTM. There are so many punchlines on this one other than the "we don’t really know your lyrics like Lebron James" that everybody quoted on the last solo.
Not even going to get into how this man just dropped Faith is a Rock, the art direction or this features.
But sure, safe

I think a lot of the production on here is safe/retreaded territory for him, minus African s***freak fantasy . The warped and looped 80s synthy/soul vocal sample is his bag but he’s done that. It’s still good!
Honestly I feel the opposite about the writing too lol I’m sorry. He had soooo many memorable lines across BOTM, I do need more time with this though to catch some more
