there's def a lot of overlap through Navy in particular (also Earl, Mach, Billy) but I think Siifu, Mike, Keiyaa, Slauson, SOTC and lots others don't fit that label at all. The connections of this scene goes beyond rap and even the rappers mix and blend lots of genres. Renaissance literally means rebirth or revival, I associate that with "classic rap" values finding a new expression, with a lot of what's happening here it feels more like post-rap or post-hip hop to me, very forward-thinking always. Both threads def warranted imo 🤝
