If he bought the beat he bought it think asking for blessing in that scenario is a bit much. Its a loosie as far as we know, not for a fully Craven produced album or anything.

On the second bit, I dont think he's kept quiet. He put out a lengthy statement and took some time away. I don't see any reason for him to feel an obligation to keep addressing it or drudging it up in public. Its clear the whole situation lacks clarity. Thats not really on him to provide beyond what he already has stated.

nah I'm not happy with how he's handling this so far. He removed the statements and it feels like he just waited 2 months for the situation to quiet down and now goes back to normal, kinda sweeping the whole thing under the rug. The fact he's ignoring the situation does not make me think he was now suddenly innocent, neither do I even get any "hey, I'm working to pay my dues, I'm sorry" kind of vibes from him. Seems to me like he's just waiting for things to erupt again

Ultimately its not for you or any of us to adjudicate the way he has handled it. He doesn't owe us anything, we're consumers and that's it at the end of the day. You're looking for peace of mind to keep consuming but your expectations as to what that entails is unreasonable and flawed.

You're certainly not privy to his private life to claim he's ignored the situation. Keeping statements up shouldn't serve as a signal of remorse or change to you. These issues aren't meaningfully addressed through social media posts and song lyrics. The hope would be that he's addressed this behind closed doors with the victims involved and has reflected on his actions in some way - be that therapy or talking with family or whatever. Neither of us are in a position to say he's not taken those steps over the last few months.

This idea that you have some direct line to these guys' actions and thought processes just because you follow them on twitter is perverse. As such, wanting him to address it further on twitter for your peace of mind just perpetuates that. Its really distorted and performative.

Respectfully, I have a different standing on this fam. This is not just any private matter, his name got dragged bad and what I'm looking for from him rn is not acting like everything's fine. This is about me still feeling comfortable supporting him at all. I'm not even all for "cancelling", it's very much about how he deals with it to me, and so far I'm not happy with just having it hanging in the air.

Well then I think you might have to just pack it in on Medhane frankly. I don't know what it is you expect him to do for you or what you deem an acceptable timeframe before he can get on with things.

This was inevitably gonna hang in the air. The guy had rape allegations levied at him over twitter by a 3rd party. As far as we know he hasn't had criminal charges to contend with or accusations further elaborated upon.

Calling him cowardly for not addressing it sufficiently enough to satisfy you is pretty selfish and distorts the whole idea of genuine contrition.
