That's a great length for a silent Hill game. The original definitely wasn't 16-18 hours so they increased the length. Imo it was already a decent length

I don’t even think it’s necessarily that, I think some people just take it as an indictment of their own tastes if they themselves are anticipating a remake.

Especially as it pertains to this game.

I feel like the remake conversation is especially prescient here. There's something about this one that feels...off?

No one was really clamoring for this (if anything we wanted a remaster) and it's pulling so hard from RE that you have to wonder what the motivations were for development.

Ppl can say what they want. I'm watching some footage (released, not leaked) of one of the boss fights. And the facial expressions during the cutscenes look phenomenal. I think this is going to be a great game and a lot of ppl might (if they have integrity) admit they were wrong about bloober handling this. We're not in the clear yet though, I need to play it for myself. But these early impressions are a good sign.

i think initial reactions were lukewarm given bloober track record but once more gameplay footage was revealed it seems like ppl are coming around to it? idk what this weird bloober redemption arc is but if it means a good silent hill game im here for it

Motivations were simple.

Konami wants to bring back SH, SH2 is the one everyone remembers and loves, the RE remakes have been received very well and have had great sales, plus we could do a tie in with a SH2 movie.

Bloober wants to do it? Okay.

Bloober looks at the most popular, best received horror titles of recent times (RE2+3 Remakes) and decides that that’s a good foundation for how to modernize SH2.

And here we are.
