It depends. Like that woman who stole an orange and blue garbage can at the Knicks parade and got fired from her job at JP Morgan Chase. She shouldn't have been fired for that. At most, she should've been fined by the city for dumping trash/littering and have to do community service.

There are definitely examples of stuff you do outside of work that probably should still get you fired, especially if your job/employment is attached to your online profiles. Posting racist s*** online, yeah you should probably be fired. Expressing your political and religious beliefs online? No you shouldn't be fired.

I do not need my job to reward or praise me for good things I do outside of work lol and I'd be annoyed if say I get recognized in my town/city's local news for good and then they start asking me about work in an interview/write-up. That s*** is irrelevant to me and what I do/did outside of work.
