Bro was almost crying because he got good luck texts from Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw. Those fellas were probably asking him for a pic instead of the other way around.

A Johnny Evans text would make anyone cry

The issue here is that people are conflating the people of a country, with the actions of the ruling class of that country. If you said GOVERNMENT then the question would've been clearer for people. Obviously people make up those governments, but at the same time, it's only a small proportion of the population that make up the government. So it's kinda messy.

England has been a notoriously classist country and has been since the Norman's (from France) invaded and took the country over in the 1000s or something like that. Then came the creation of the banking system in the 1500s, then the pursuit of endless economic growth at the expense of human wellbeing, then in the late 1800s it's now much bigger cousin the USA took over from its role and surpassed it in GDP and the rest is history. As faster modes of transport as well as faster methods of communication became viable, the advantage shifted permanently in the favor of countries with more land mass.

So former imperialistic island nations like Britain and Japan (harassed most of East Asia) gradually lost their comparative importance as we see today, with larger countries like the USA, China, Germany etc... being favored. Although Japans issue isn't as clear cut as the UK's since it's a lot, lot larger in landmass (as well as varying in climate) so the issue isn't as pronounced for them. So there's a lot more potential there.

despite parliament's best efforts there is still a strong social contract compared to other western countries. good manners remain a part of daily life which is nice to see

the usa’s military industrial complex has done more damage than any country on the planet by a long shot my guy. do your googles

I mean they didn't just learn it from nowhere? They studied the British government and then perfected their oppressive methods. Long story short humans are evil. Most world conflicts from the past 300 years can be traced back to the British government.

Surprised there’s no Korean films here

They have some great stuff but I'm not as obsessed as everybody else is with them (or Hong Kong). Can watch Japan, Taiwan and mainland China all day though.
