That’s what I think when people say that. He opened the door, not everyone could fully make their way out, but is that his fault? They’re mad because they didn’t want to do it all themselves and I guess wanted more features or push, idek anymore tbh. You look at somewhere like Atlanta, which Toronto was compared to around 2014-2018, and everyone’s just working together out there but Toronto didn’t fully become that. He was also signing people out of the blue who weren’t maybe as well known as some of the other Toronto artists at the time, (ie. PND, Roy, Majid), but it was clear from the jump that OVO wasn’t going to be a primarily rap orientated label. He worked with many people though, and put lots on too. Safe, Boogz, Smiley, Prime Boys, Mo G, Pressa, Smoke Dawg, WhyG, Top5, just to name a few, were either somewhat promoted by Drake and OVO or had been given features or the opportunity to work with him
