im not doubting that things won't get worse and not responding specifically to you. its just annoying to see liberals (not you!) blame this assassination for things getting worse and lecture people on political violence. i think the main point of emphasis for liberals to understand is that repression and state terrorism in the US is already here and can't be avoided by simply placating fascists; saying s*** like "great, now the far right has a martyr to use to push for more cruelty", while technically correct, kind of misses the forest for the trees. it places far too much emphasis on a singular event/a single person influencing outcomes. for liberals, this kind of thinking suggests that laying dormant and not "poking the bear" is the best way to avoid further repression, which is obviously counter-revolutionary bullshit and even funnier considering the shooter was not on the left.
