think i might have to go back and finish strange journey. played a few hours and enjoyed it, but i just finished playing through 3, 4, and 4a, so i didn't wanna burn myself out for when 5 came out

kinda fiending for more, so might do that or replay 5 on hard. also somewhat considering devil survivor overclocked. i really appreciate a decent story, and i've heard great things about SJ & DS in that regard

i can kinda understand the 4a hate, but i also think a bit of it comes from the megaten fandom being elitist and hating on anything that's remotely close to persona (in which 4a does kinda play into). i thought the peace ending was actually crazy good. really really enjoyed it

Late game spoilers

I just beat Ishtar and im at the castle now (song that plays during that fight is insane), did you guys disable all the towers? Feel like it made that fight wayy to easy, kinda wanna do it again without disabling any towers

yup, disabled em all as well. pretty sure I just ended up nulling all her attacks and she just folded. she really could've used at least 3 press turns. two is just so little for a somewhat significant boss fight.

honestly think the game just needs to be played on hard if you're looking for a half decent challenge.

I'd say a 10, but that's not to say the game is perfect or anything. I just really enjoyed my time playing.

copped smt3 for half off yesterday as my first megaten/persona game (not counting the <1hr of P3P i played), if i like it enough ill pull the trigger on smt5

Without spoilers and giving a recommendation based on gameplay, if u want exploration go for SJ, if u want something more direct go DS.

perfect, will start up one of em this week. forgot exactly where i was in SJ, but wasn't very far in. think one of the things that has/had me hesitant to start either was the gameplay (mainly the grid/etrian odyssey exploration of SJ & the grid/tactical rpg style of DS). i know i'll love both of em as soon as i get into everything, but the gameplay aspect might take me a bit to get past
