Going magic build paid off cause I just got my first Nahobino magic skill a few hours ago and the animation is sexy as f***
no kidding. though i will say, the world is really nice to explore in this. i figure i'd get bored/tired of the sandy/desolate design of it all, but i'm impressed.
as for difficulty, i think it's the easiest out of 3, 4, and 4a. i am playing on normal this first run though. don't think i've had any troubles with any bosses thus far and i'm a decent way into the game. not sure if it's just because i know what to expect in these games or the game is actually just easier than the others.
i guess the game throws a lot of bones at you (the hp/mp/magatsuhi orbs, frequent save points, elemental dampeners are actually so busted for their price -- you can really trivialize most fights, assuming you know which moves bosses have, especially now spyglasses work on bosses too lol). most attempts a boss has taken me has been just two lol.
as i get closer to the end, i hope it gets a bit more difficult. i know the superboss(es?) are stupid hard, but that's a given
True. The fact that it’s incredibly easy to avoid enemies now goes a long way too. There’s plenty of safe hubs and those orbs pretty much make dying between saves impossible.
I think it can skew on the easier side at times (I’m still early in) but it usually strikes a nice balance. It isn’t so hard that it’ll turn away newcomers. But it’s certainly not P5R levels of easy either
Can’t wait to see how it progresses.

those aogomi essences are nutty

The dampners should be wayyy more expensive man, I have been using them to trivialise most boss encounters, also can’t believe the spyglass works on bosses because when the enemy is preparing their magatsuhi turn it makes it very easy to predict what they are going to do. Enemy magatsuhi is basically a free turn

ah yeah, being able to avoid enemies is crazy easy compared to the other games. used to getting jumped in 4/4a
or the very frequent random encounters in nocturne
. you also run into the mitamas pretty damn often as well, even without the DLC active.
i do wish it was a bit more difficult on normal, but i'm not really upset or anything. p5r was really fun to play through despite how easy it was because you were able to go crazy with the personas you got (especially w/ network fusion lol). i do think it might be a bit disappointing if it was your first playthrough of that game though. smt v does the difficulty much better than p5r, even if it is on the easier side, like you mentioned.
i really have no complaints about this game. it's been too good

yup, 10000% agreed. once i realized that on the nuwa fight, it was over
Game filters 99.9% of newcomers just off the fact they won’t get the true ending due to the requirements lol

smt iv neutral all over again
not really too sure what the endings entail, but i am really curious to see what i'm going to get.
though i guess that guarantees i do another playthrough relatively soon.
i need to drop yoshitsune but he's too good. started using him at 45 and still using him at 59

I feel the exact opposite of that dude's post, hes looking at it from a veteran's perspective if anything but the game is clearly a loveletter to SMT fans, the true final boss being what it is, the amount of effort you have to put into for the endings (which has been insanely controversial in most megaten circles) and its still a possibility we haven't seen a lot of stuff. Reviewers were playing on casual and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them just ended up with the s***tiest ending then wrote their review without trying to get the others, and if they got the s***tiest ending it means they skipped at least 10% of the content
but you can read certain reviews and just tell a few of them didn't. and its been 4 weeks since the game was in anyone's hands and people are only just now finding out a very important part to the ending. After days of controversy over just figuring out how to unlock what we already assumed was the true final boss.... all im sayin is this s*** is on some 90s rpg s*** with tons of secrets and most people playing the game are gonna get one and done no matter how many endings it is. This isn't praise though, It was ballsy on their part but its one of the reasons I see the game being s***ted on and seen as divisive, In fact I've already accepted the flaws of the game but the good parts make it the incredible game it is.

No you don't, lol. For real. He's a permanent party member just about everyone keeps him til the end. Mine had like 120 str and 102 agility at level 99. hes just too broken. Hassou tobi is a free press turn, does crackhead damage, put yasabume shot on em which has pierce and his damage output stays high the entire game. Unless you just wanna switch out for a demon you love more. Fact remains he's easily the most OP demon in the game based off the low cost of his unique move and the fact it shreds through 90% of the content
Unlike IV you can easily use lower/mid level demons until late game due to essences anything can be broken by late game.

huh, interesting. it definitely makes me more inclined to play through then. normally i'd just hyperfocus on getting the true ending and be one and done, but i really wanna see what my initial playthrough gets me.
the more i learn and play this game, the more i love it. currently at taito, believe i have to defeat the different bethel reps, but these mfs *and* the abcesses are so high leveled, so i guess i'm gonna do some grinding/exploring. this area looks crazy cool and the music is too good.

he's just too good, i feel like i'm cheating
i might end up replacing him with fionn, but idk if that's a route specific demon or not. it is pretty damn nice that you can make your demons busted with essences and incense. bout to make a god tier jack frost
20 hours deep so far, the music is absolutely fantastic, i was worried about the game's performance but to be honest for a game that's semi open world it definitely runs MUCH better than a game like MHS2 it runs much better than expected, the story is cool so far, the combat is engaging but i still hate the fact that the physical attacks barely have any impact behind it (example SMT3).
worth the wait so far
The localization is outstanding tbh
also saw a pic of mothman asking nahobino to step on him

This happened to me yesterday, s*** had me rolling
also saw a pic of mothman asking nahobino to step on him
The writers snapped with the demon negotiations in this game for sure
Put 31 hours in and only just beat the 2nd area, I been tryna get every demon like its pokemon
