As of right now, to my surprise, there seem to be a lot more people commencing their 20s.
Not sure what to think about that.
I've made this thread out of curiousity because I had the feeling that longer posts arent being read, thus I assumed this would be younger people who might not be used to reading longer texts anymore (because as studies have shown, reading behavior changed drastically post-social media & introduction of smartphones). But well it could be this is also the case with people around 20 (born around 99/2000) and even the older generations who grew up without internet media.

Music sxn is littered with teens. And you can’t discount the fact anyone can say they’re any age. A teen probably won’t admit to being a teen in a thread like this

Yes I know that, a lot of people around 18 who will tell theyre 20 because it makes them seem more mature.
Ive almost been through my 20s and realized a lot of people dont change much, it's the amount of responsibilities we have that do change tho. There are people in their 30s who I've talked too and felt like they had the spiritual and intellectual horizon of a 16 yo and vice versa, met people in their teens who had minds and souls much older than their actual age and were behaving like that.
So age does play a role for sure in some aspects of life and society, but we shouldnt focus on it too much.

Just writing this so the younger ones can feel comfy to expose themselves.

Personally the difference between me at 20 and me at 21 is night and day. I feel like there’s a point somewhere between 18 and 23 for most people where the responsibility and maturity jumpstart their mentality. Obviously there’ll be outliers and late bloomers though

Yeah, at 18 you just finished highschool. At 23 many are paying bills and finished college/uni. In order to survive in society the way it is you gotta have a certain mindset and set of skills and that's first shaped during that time.

You know this might be true for modernized societies. One different example:
I'm in a rural area of a poorer part of the world right now, there's girls here that at the age of 14 or 15 have children already, some of them the fathers left. They work day in and out to feed them, running around doing manual labor on the field or selling handmade stuff for an amount of money that most people in digital societies wouldnt even get up. Just to somehow get them and their family through. And although they dont have a lot of formal education, they're very sincere as human beings, they respect the people around them and nature, they know where the food they're eating is coming from and treat every bit of it with appreciation and live a far more environmentally-sustainable lifestyle than a lot of us do.
Just writing this story because life and what we go through at what age is very different in every part of the world and we'd do well in checking beyond our immediate reach sometimes to see what we can learn and relativize our concepts of life sometimes.
