Word just saw your post on the last page. Excited. One of them mentions seeing the 4th as well, do you think that's necessary?

Absolutely bro, it sounds like it
You seen 4? It’s f***ing surprisingly sooo good. Beyond just being really really good I think it’s carrying over characters and things that were introduced from that into scream 5 so definitely catch up
The way scream 1 embraced all the slasher and horror cliches and put them all on the table for the audience, scream 4 does that for remakes, reunions, sequels to old movies etc. it’s really great and underrated
It’s slowly getting it’s own respect tho which is good

Could be for spoilers? It’s still not day of release tho which would be worse
Didn’t want to say this before I did it but I’ve never watched the Scream movies
Until now

2 and 4 tied for me but you got the order right
Feels like the marketing team must have fumbled this, where is the hype? The egirls should be going crazy for this, I had no idea it was coming out

I'm subscribed to small horror movie channels on YT. I'm glad they got an opportunity to interview the cast and crew even though their audience is quite small.

It’s been there
Trailers been placed as an ad on most YouTube videos I watch, mad Twitter ads
It’s not gonna have the same push as Spider-Man did because of the budget
They had to cancel the premiere because of COVID but that’s the most glitzy thing they were gonna do

Of course not Spider-Man level stuff
But I guess I was expecting it to be hyped on Twitter in a similar way that It was. Maybe that was bigger budget too but I feel like some viral marketing or something should be making this bigger. I personally haven’t seen any ads anywhere (tv YouTube or socials) this thread was the first time I heard of it dropping
Then again also why is this dropping in January

4 was a notable box office disappointment, failing to reach number one and posting the worst opening weekend outside of the OG despite owning out with 10 years later when ticket prices were a lot higher. The studio is probably expecting a similar performance to that rather than something like Halloween.
I think the studio is shooting itself in the foot cause with the right marketing this could be a horror event, as it should be. Should be opening around $50 million, but probably gonna struggle to break $20.

It’s projected to make up to 50 in the 4 day weekend
50 being the high end
Of course not Spider-Man level stuff

I feel like studios are finally going to put MLK weekend to use
Worked very well for Bad Boys 3 two years ago

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, it really should be an event. as a 90s kid Scream is iconic and I don’t think the performance of a sequel is indicative of how big a reboot could be. With the right marketing and cast I would think this could’ve been even bigger than Halloween. When I think Scream I would’ve expected It level hype
