I am genuinely going to be worrying everyday about my kids going to school. My daughter will be going to kindergarten this year.

The Keltec sub2000 is a folding pistol caliber carbine (PCC) rifle chambered in 9mm, with it's main selling point being concealability/ease of transportation (backpack gun for hiking) and the AR has a sub 16 inch barrel with an arm brace in place of a stock, which up until a very recent ATF ruling was legally considered a pistol because of the brace not being considered a stock and the barrel length being under 16 inches.

The recent ATF ruling reclassified arm braces as stocks, effectively making millions of legally acquired/built AR pistols into short barreled rifles, which are an NFA regulated item requiring government approval upon paying a $200 tax stamp. This effectively made millions of legal firearm owners felons overnight, pending registration of their firearm.

The leading push behind this legislation is that braces allow people to create more compact/concealable "assault rifles" such as the 14.5 inch barrel AR used in this shooting. With both a braced firearm and a folding firearm used in this shooting, they'll undoubtedly use this to reinforce said ruling. The problem being, if the shooter had used the exact same set up with no stock as opposed to a brace, basically an even shorter and more concealable AR15, it would still be classified as a pistol and thus have been a legal firearm to own even under this new ruling.

Regardless of where one stands on firearms, this is a blatant overreach by the ATF and a completely pointless ban ala "bump stock ban", essentially banning an attachment for the guns instead of focusing on the larger issue at hand.

cannot emphasize enough that minorities in america should be arming and training right now. If they dont ban guns, they're gonna make your existence illegal and kill/persecute you for it. if they do ban guns, they're still gonna make your existence illegal and the people who will enforce these laws, the police, will be armed to the teeth to enforce them.
