wanna take a wild guess why?
firearms are so deeply ingrained in this country's culture. there are more firearms in private ownership than there are citizens in the US. this country was founded using firearms and they continue to be one of the basic fundamentals inalienably given to us by our constitution. P80s and 3D printed guns are in abundance. now tell me, whats your plan for reforming that?
The constitution as a legal document is meaningless, a state never follows its own set rules, it routinely works outside the lines justified by whatever it dictates and whatever interpretations needed
I think it is the mythos surrounding the constitution which propels the 2A debate, rather than legalism itself
Because its completely legal????????
and its done in places where its not legal too
and its failing across america. tap in with some firearm circles, see how many people bought a dozen guns before the ban in their area went through. then try to picture all the people who will buy them anyway because ban laws only affect those who follow laws.
Bro if you're going to respond to my post you could atleast read it. There's a key sentence in there

agreed 100%. but its the leading excuse used as to why americans NEED their gun rights.

Cool
Its called a crime, make it a crime everywhere
Again: We're the ONLY COUNTRY where this happens
Yeah the US isn’t Australia or Iceland, go figure!

Yeah, simply put, I think guns hold too much cultural power over the American "soul" to have something done about them in regards to regulation.
Cool

yeah because criminals who are known for committing crimes will stop doing things because theyre now considered a crime.
congratulations you solved the firearm crisis!

Then why you talk about banning when I specifically said it doesn't mean banning
@Lou you need to repost your gun control points to this page because they were really solid.
Then why you talk about banning when I specifically said it doesn't mean banning
Because whether its a ban or some sort of "common sense" reform, it only applies to people who are going to follow the law regardless.

This is what I mean, this is the ethos of American Evangelicalism and things like Manifest Destiny and the various other settler-colonial adventures the Americans went on
It is fundamentally about power and who wields it
At the end of the day I could give a f*** about gun rights. I’m not even a gun owner. I simply don’t believe more restrictions would help.
yeah because criminals who are known for committing crimes will stop doing things because theyre now considered a crime.

Yup, so exactly why does loosening gun sale regulations continue to happen?
I stg people who say s*** like this have early onset dementia and were born in houses full of leaded paint
Yeah the US isn’t Australia or Iceland, go figure!
Yall are acting like mass shootings are an inevitability
Is Biden saying anything worthwhile or is he just saying “muh republicans”
He addressed the situation and went back to the original intent of this
