Parody movies are absolutely outdated, I agree with that

But after finding out the Scary Movie franchise was basically ripped out of the Wayans hands by the Weinsteins…I’m just happy to see that the franchise is back in their hands.
And the Wayans can finally make the sequel they were always meant to make

But yea it’s gonna be tough for them to make something that will generate real interest among younger people. There really isn’t even a real interest in comedy films like it used to be, humor is just so different now

Thankfully there’s A LOT of modern horror films that they can easily parody, but the problem will be writing jokes that will appeal to people in 2024

Hating would be me saying this series sucks and that they’re in their 50s and the wayans aren’t even a tenth of of their creativity combined you can just watch Marlon’s recent comedy specials to tell you that. Scary Movie 1 and 2 are comedy classics, but they are time capsules from a very different era of comedy. Like I can’t imagine the clown doll sexual assault scene and all the stoner jokes working as well in 2024

But I’m definitely interested to see how a modern Scary Movie will turn out
