Powerful. HNVM is a thing of its own.
say this every single time
No. This is MY first time saying it. The reception on this can matter a lot moving forward. He knows that. There’s a reason he brings up feeling satisfied with his last project in the trailer (spoiler alert probably bc he isn’t lol). This is definitely a different feeling. Mans looking like batman in the trailer.
get to posting

Realistically we can throw this all the way back to CLB when the run began, what a wild time

Absolutely.
Thread did more pages in hours than the new andre album oh lord
Do not ever get into gambling if you predicted a flute album to have anywhere as much discourse as a drake album on ktt
I don’t think Joe’s critique was aimed at the genre shifting but more so how Drake went about it, which is still my critique with a lot of his work. It’s the substance that Joe and a lot of music heads complain about with Drake’s recentloutput as an artist versus when he was starting. He would always tap into different genres but the soul and level of perfection was there and I cannot say the same for a lot of Views, Scorpion, CLB and some of FATD.
But again, Drake saw how successful the formula of Views was and decided to continue that and it’s definite benefited him heavy so I can’t sit here and say that he was 100% wrong for that cause mfs gotta eat lol
You could say that but then you could also point to people who call views a classic album and (not incorrectly) argue it was crazy impactful on the music scene and shifted even other artists' approach to their music to the sense that Chris brown was dropping 30+ track albums and making no guidance lol
I think the argument that it'sa cash grab doesn't take into account that many many manyyy people heavily f*** with views today some even saying it's their favorite project.. I personally still think tc nwts iyrtitl is the greatest 3peat run only matched by GKMC TPAB & Damn.. more life some ppl swear by you swear by HNVM but some ppl HATED IT... I just think at the end of the day people haven't seen artist as broadly appealing as drake and become entitled to his music development process because of how much they like his segmentations of music lol
