a d’angelo memory i shared here long time ago

i met someone who was in universal building and he said that he went to a small room. And nothing was in this room but in a corner there was a box. And he was drawn to this box for some reason.

He looks in the box & iit’s a bunch of tapes marked D’angelo untitled (i’m guessing not the song) demos!! Each tape was like 90 minutes. Apparently these were pre or post brown sugar. This was before Voodoo allegedly.

Let that one dwell , he would just sit with his vintage ensoniq sampler keyboard and write record write record record record & then just leave his music in the company of suits

No wonder he smoked so many cigs. the majority of his time pre band alone in a studio recording magic through pressure stresss & anxiety. he probably forgot about the work

RIP 🐐 I hope he gets to hang with his family friends & inspirational heroes in the afterlife. He deserves it , have a blast playa #1 😔 🕊️ 🚪
