i hate the “score is by committee, review is by an individual” thing, he clearly loved itNo joke this is the weirdest score + review Ive seen on Pitchfork in a long time. At least give the review to someone who will point out the flaws if youre giving it a relatively lower score.

Bloom could get a 9, it’s a great album
I was a Beach House stan at the time when it released (bought all their albums, went to their shows twice and even snatched a setlist from other fans at one concert lmfaooo), but Bloom was a very rare miss. That project made me realize the BH "formula" was no longer working.

It holds up incredibly. It’s been in rotation since 2015. One of my most played albums ever. Even if I listen to more electronic music can’t see myself taking it down. This and We’re New Here are iconic to me.
