1st things 1st, I’m a huge fan of CyberPunk, I love the good work the CDPR devs put on it, have it on PC & am currently making a “Let’s Play” on my YouTube channel of it, here: youtube.com/channel/UCAMDCOn_WEjIFOkZ76pkE9A
But this s*** gotta be said.
We all know Witcher 3 was OVERRATED af & CDPR used its momentum to piggy back off its hype + loyalty to ELABORATELY PYRAMID SCHEME US WITH A F***ING HALF FINISHED CYBERPUNK.
We gotta stop putting corporations on a f***ing humane pedestal. You have to be tough on them so they fix up & release good s***.
You remember how we SLAPPED Bethesda for Oblivion’s AI NPC? They fixed right up & did a solid job with Skyrim (which I found, much better than W3).
both overly ambitious and fall enormously flat
I feel like when Bethesda got shat on, they said: “ok fk, more quality then”, and delivered Skyrim.
CDPR isn’t a golden child, it’ll have to learn from its mistakes.

Bethesda also released Fallout 76
Bethesda also released Fallout 76
The point is that NONE of these gaming companies are perfect. People thought CDPR was perfect.
Ubisoft gave us AC & Far Cry, but also gave us Watchdogs.
Bethesda gave us Skyrim + Doom/DE but also gave us FO76.
None of these mfs are perfect

Bethesda didn’t make Doom
Bethesda didn’t make Doom
They still gave it to us by publishing, it’s a Bethesda game. ID software the developer.
Witcher 3 is GOAT FOH
It started a vicious culture of people coddling a company & making them feel like they could do no wrong, did it not?
No corporation is “client-friendly” or “for the people” if it’s publicly traded, you understand?
I’m glad some of these gamer f***s woke up, these corporations don’t care about us.
Sometimes you gotta slap em, like what we’re doing to CDPR.

Giving most of the credit to Bethesda is like giving Harvey Weinstein most of the credit for Pulp Fiction

Yes. That’s what I said?
You don’t call it a “ID Software game developed by ID software”.
It’s a Bethesda game developed by ID software.
Anyway don’t Stan companies. If you like something check out who actually made it and follow their career instead of the logo on the box
Witcher 3 is GOAT FOH
It wasnt bad but it does not live up to the hype. Combat is so ASS tbqhwyf and thats like more than half the game.

Exactly my point - CDPR was getting stanned & knew it. We should’ve given them more fearful expectations, like how Bethesda got ROCKED after Oblivion’s NPC debacle.
Witcher 3 is GOAT FOH
Let’s get serious - W3 was not as good as Skyrim. It definitely did not have the same impact either. It just is what it f***ing is. I’ve played both.
This is because Bethesda did get humbled with Oblivion. They were able to deliver a Skyrim.
How we’re punching CDPR in the face is good. CyberPunk makes me have faith for whatever CDPR’s “Skyrim” is.
Valve has not missed in their single player games even though they don't release frequently
I think the fact that they do not release frequently helps too, they always try to give something fresh and good
HL2 - Ep 1 - Ep 2 - Portal - Portal 2 - Alyx
Insane run
Just think the smaller games they released between HL1 and HL2 are not that special
But those are all games that changed my perspective on what games could be
It is unfair to compare Valve to other game studios because they generate most of their money out of Steam (and CSGO / Dota) so they could be a profitable company even if they stopped releasing games

Valve keeps their games and budgets tight
Cyberpunk is what happens when your game has unlimited budget and gets bloated beyond all reasoning
Only dev that is capable of handling a game with unlimited budget is Rockstar
CDPR is not the same as a Bethesda or Rockstar. They just hit really big with TW3, and are finding out what comes with that hype now. It’s unfair to compare a company with as little experience as CDPR in comparison with the other studios you’re mentioning.
