GlockiThis one feels different because it felt like these guys graduated beyond this sort of thing.
All death is tragic, but when someone like Drakeo who still feels like he has one foot fully in the streets is killed is not the same. The Migos are a full blown mainstream legacy act thats been around for a decade. It felt like they had “made it” and moved beyond this sort of thing. I guess thats silly and that it can happen to anyone at any time but its sad that these guys didnt get to all get old and grow together and be the elder statesmen for the next 20 years.
Plus it's just straight up shocking for the most low key, subdued member of the group to be the one killed. And how could anyone actively dislike Takeoff?
Even if you didn't check for his music, he still (at least IMO) had reached a tier of consistency with his raps without asking too much of his listeners that was similar to the vibe you get from like, a Curren$y type artist
He felt like the type of rapper who could have, and should have, been performing his verse on T-Shirt at the Grammys twenty years from now for a Atlanta rap retrospective, you know what I mean?
