My coworkers are generally not very well versed people in stuff I'm interested in (at least not the degree I am) but they're fun and a good laugh, most of the time by far that is the environment I want to be around
if I want to be informed by experts I'll read a book or watch a lecture or speech, podcasting inherently feels like a medium meant to devolve into inside jokes and unorganised chaos like workplace shenanigans
I could go the entire work day without speaking to a coworker personally, I dont make friends at work, but I work in a unique environment with kids around so you gotta be careful what you say
There are podcasts with lectures, so its basically one in the same, but I understand what youre saying, we just look for different things, one of the only podcasts I listen to consistently are Jeff Teagues and Adam Friedlands, and Jeffs is damn tear a comedy/sports pod and Adam's is a talk show at this point, guess I'm just over the typical podcast format

I like my coworkers so I listen to less podcasts nowadays than I did 5+ years ago (when I also had more free time), but I still have a couple I watch and they all fall under the long form unstructured fun umbrella (not completely ignorant albeit)
A podcast is something I'm never 100% focused on while watching/listening so it feels wrong dedicating time to something serious in a medium of communication I don't take serious
