New York media has one of the worst cases of gatekeeping ever ESPECIALLY when it comes to black Hip Hop media. No one else gets a shot cause of seniority and you get left with folks that New Yorkers didn't ask for. No one asked for Joe Budden to have a hot 97 radio show before getting into podcasting. No one asked to hear Marissa talk about whatever for that 1st year lol. The s*** kind of just happened.

Lot of the people holding new york media hostage do it because they was the "first" to it. Joe Budden was the first rapper to really like embrace the internet, cornballs like itsbiskit were one of the early bloggers, then you had 2012-2016 was like a passing of the torch with the cornballs all under the scope of Charlemagne/Loudspeakers (i know he monks corner but it's like cole, nyc just adopted him), tax, mouse, etc.

And they never f***ing leave lol. I think any space is a valid place to have important conversations about these kind of topics, especially as it relates to influential figures within the space so we can better understand who we are dealing with. there does need to be a conversation as to why he feels he does not need to speak to this topic simply because of his “history” when he compromised those morals he claims to be a part of the joke that downplays the very woman in his household
