Rory and Mal are clowns though. I saw countless clips of them talking about other people's contracts and talking down on people for that, trying to give other people advice on not getting f***ed over... When that whole time these guys were being played as well

Their video confirms a lot of things.
1. They have a profit-sharing deal. Profit-sharing does not equal ownership. They probably confused that percentage by thinking they owned that much of the company.
2. Mal and Rory saying that they donnot care about money or a contract is false. The entire 1 hr video was about money.
3. Rory confirms they spoke to Joe outside of an event they did talking ownership and he said he would never give them that percentage.
4. There is a contract what does not include ownership which they signed however since they have a profit share they should be able to accounting.
5. This entire thing is a giant miscommunication where egos made things go left.

The account that does my taxes uses excel for everything. However, he also has the programs as well.

At work, we use both. My client asked me to prepare a forecast that shows we will spend an additional 320k for a campaign and I broke it down by excel. However, I did prepare a presentation as well to go along with the breakdown.

I say all this to say it's not that weird. To see an excel when discussing money in a cooperate setting. Joe could have asked specifically for an excel as well so they could see each breakdown. The best part of excel is being able to see the formulas the accountant used for the calculations so you can spot if things are wrong easier.
