Apr 25, 2022·1 replygnarlynastyI haven’t listened to Rodeo in a minute but I do remember that,as an album,it was kind of a mess but the energy the album gave off from start to finish is just infectious. BITTSM is not only a better structured,more mature album from Travis,but it also showcases that Travis has range as an artist. He mixed new age R&B with Hip Hop seamlessly on that album.
It’s just musically better but it’s not an “in your face” infectious album like Rodeo is so I guess it’s hard to make that distinction.

How about this,BITTSM is the sit down,chill out and vibe album vs Rodeo being the thick and satisfying,nothing but bangers album. BITTSM is a refined well aged Cognac but Rodeo is Red Bull & Vodka.

I think it’s the complete opposite. Outside of the first two tracks birds is pretty watered down and generic in comparison to travs prior work. Really catchy songs and beats but it’s a party album as opposed to the grand compositions of his earlier work
Apr 26, 2022Features did a lot of the legwork, very solid project but def has some lows that MBDTF did not. Trav was def at his peak as a collaborator with that one and really just grabbed some of the hottest / best artists he could to construct a classic. I wouldn’t say on the same level but a standout project of the 10s for sure

I can Def see your point cause the radio tracks on Birds are obvious but the singles were pretty good imo. I think it’s a taste thing but Rodeo and Birds are obviously trying to accomplish two different things. I just think Birds gets under appreciated because Travis audience wasn’t expecting a relationship album.

Birds feels like the dbr to astroworld. I know it was essentially a mixtape but dude says he “doesn’t make mixtapes”. Still a fire project and trav has one of the best discogs in current music imo but it’s easily my least favorite in his catalog
